The Data Science Doctoral Retreat 2025 will once again be organized by Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and held on May 28, 2025, as part of iDSC’25 (Interdisciplinary Data Science Conference) at Schloss Urstein / FH Salzburg (Puch).
What’s It About?
The retreat offers doctoral candidates from member institutes of IDALab a unique opportunity to present their research in an interdisciplinary setting, engage in critical reflection, and receive valuable feedback from experts and peers. The focus lies on exchanging ideas, networking with like-minded researchers, and advancing your work through constructive input and new perspectives.
What to Expect?
- Present Your Research: Deliver a short talk (15–20 minutes) about your work.
- Constructive Feedback: Discuss your research with experienced scientists and colleagues.
- Networking: Strengthen methodological skills and build connections for future collaborations.
- Optional Participation in iDSC: Benefit from the broader iDSC Conference Program (May 26–27) featuring keynotes, research tracks, and practical use-case sessions.
Who Can Participate?
This retreat is exclusively open to doctoral candidates from the member institutes of IDALab. If you are unsure whether your institute is a member, please contact the organizing team or visit the IDALab website for more information.

- Participation in the retreat is free of charge.
- Optional: Join the iDSC Conference (May 26–27) at the Student Early Bird Fee of €215 (bookable from mid-February via https://idsc.at).
